Patty Joe Gartman

Patty Joe Thornhill Gartman born in Tylertown, MS May 21, 1930 to T. Walter and Mattie Stringer Thornhill died January 29, 2023 at Diversicare of Tylertown, MS. She was a devoted member of Fairhope Seventh Day Adventist Church which she and her husband Raymond Gartman built and were charter members of. She dearly loved her grandchildren, her flowers and cross stitching. Everyone knew how beautiful her flowers were and admired all her intricate cross stitch work she did. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond Gartman father of her children Harold Foil, two brothers Lee Webb Thornhill, James Milton, four sisters Irene Hill, Abbie Cruise, Oudia Rayborn, and Nell Fairburn, stepdaughter Maxine Smitherman and Marion (Bud) Gartman. She is survived by her son, Dickie (Angie) Foil of Tylertown, MS their children, Lisa (Wes) Bickford, BO (Jackie) Foil, daughter Patsy (Glen) Cadwell Kingston, OH their children Tara (Matt) Long, Rita (David) Houts all of Kingston, stepson Mark (Renee) Gartman of Foley, AL their children Stacey (Johnny Clanton, Mark (Lauren) Gartman. Greatgrandchildren, Sawyer, Slade, Colby, Cody, Elizabeth, Natalie, Gabby, Wyatt, Scarlett and Austin. Many step-grand and great grandchildren all of whom loved her as Granny Pat or Maw Maw. Special niece Mary Turner and nephew Lee W. Thornhill. Very special friend Glayds Jongebloed. The family is very appreciative to the entire staff of Diversicare of Tylertown that has cared for her so well and hospice group Compassus for their caring spirit in taking care of our Granny in her last days. No flowers please she enjoyed them when she saw them and let them live. Visitation will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Interment will follow at 2:00pm in Montrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 22886 US-98 Fairhope, AL 36532, Alzheimer’s Association which she suffered years.
