Paul Anthony Gaubatz, 84, a resident of Elberta, Alabama passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021.
Paul was a barber for 66 years – 64 were in Foley, Alabama – where he opened Paul’s Barber Shop in 1989. Paul was an avid outdoorsman and loved playing cards and gardening. Everybody that knew him loved him. He never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Gaubatz; parents, Fred and Lillian Gaubatz; and four brothers, Fred, Jr., Joe, Richard, and Jerry.
He is survived by his daughter, Paula Gaubatz of Foley; sons, Tony (Donna) Gaubatz of Elberta, and Michael Paul Gaubatz of Jeffersonville, Indiana; sister, Lillian Bird of Michigan; two brothers, Edward Gaubatz of Lanesville, Indiana and Bob Gaubatz of Rocky Mount, Virginia; grandsons, Joseph (Gina) Gaubatz, David (Summer) Gaubatz; granddaughters, Julie (Joey) Koptis, Evan (Ben) Gaubatz, and Cherice (Danielle) Gaubatz; great-grandchildren, Brock Koptis, Sierra Koptis, Isabelle Gaubatz, Blake Gaubatz, Addison Gaubatz, Lou Dean, Adley Gaubatz, and Lillian Evangeline Greer; great granddaughters, Aliyah and Azaria Gaubatz; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on September 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM with fellowship to follow in the fellowship hall. There will be a fish fry in the town park adjacent to the church.
