Peggy Irene Merchant, age 78, a resident of Elberta, AL passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her.

Preceded in death by her parents, John, and Irene Madden; brother’s, Johnny Madden, Randall Madden; sons, Douglas and Norman Merchant; and a daughter, Glenda Mattingly.

She is survived by her husband, Sanger Merchant, Jr.; children, Peggy Darlene (Chuck) Kaechele and Craig Merchant all of Elberta, AL; granddaughters, Brooke Kaechele, Brandi (Clint) Newman, Alayna (Eric) Baumann; grandsons, Wesley (Hayden) Kaechele, Kyle (Hope) Merchant, Jacob Merchant, Jeffrey (Evangelynn) Mattingly, Brantley Merchant; great granddaughters, Layla Newman, Railey Newman, Tabitha Mattlingly, Emma Kaechele, Aubrey Kaechele; great grandsons, Maxwell Newman, Austin Mattlingly, Anthony Hunter; many other nieces, nephews , cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 11:00am

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Interment will follow in Gilley’s Cemetery.
