Phyllis Tattersall Ludt March 18, 1941 – June 13, 2025
Phyllis Tattersall Ludt, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Edith Tattersall, and her sister, Jacqueline Long.
Phyllis grew up in Boynton Beach, Florida, where she developed a lifelong love of the water. A longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama, she was known for her warmth, quiet strength, and deep love for her family.
She retired after 23 years of dedicated service in the registrar’s office at the University of South Alabama, where she was admired for her professionalism and commitment.
Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband, William Ludt, and their children: Steven Ludt, Scott (Marie) Ludt, and Susan Ludt. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Chas (Kelsie) Ludt, Alyssa Seabrook, Carson (Kaleigh) Ludt, Haley Ludt, Bailey Ludt, Bradley Ludt, and Lindsay Willins, and a loving great-grandmother to Collins and Lawson Ludt. The family extends special thanks to close family friend David Hall for his support and kindness.
Phyllis is also fondly remembered for the deep love she had for her cherished pets—Isabella, Sophie, and Oliver—who brought her many years of joy and companionship.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 20, 2025, from 12:30PM until 1:30PM at Wolfe-Bayview, Daphne Chapel, 27409 U.S. Hwy 98, Daphne, AL 36526. A graveside service and interment will follow at 2:PM at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 AL-225, Spanish Fort, AL 36577.
Following services, family and friends are warmly invited to gather at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Sullivan Center, 251 North Craft Highway, Chickasaw, Alabama 36611, to share memories and celebrate Phyllis’s life.
Phyllis’s life was a reflection of kindness, grace, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength lives on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
