Raymond passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, on Saturday December 27th, 2025. His family members were with him as he went peacefully.

He graduated from McDowell High School, Erie, Pa. in 1965.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Tennent II and Anna Danis Tennent of Erie, Pa.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Huffman Tennent. His children, son, Raymond (Kelly) Tennent IV, daughter Laura (Robert) Glenn of Spring Creek, Pa. Son, Timothy Blakeslee of DeLand, Fl., daughter, Tracie (Mike) Pasko of Mantua, Oh. and daughter, Carrie Jo Bradley of Fairhope, Al.

Ray counted his blessings every day to be a Papa to 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and one great great-granddaughter. He leaves a dedicated companion, his dog, Jimmy.

Ray enjoyed over 40 years in the Oil and Gas industry. He was one of a select few, without a related degree, to rise and enjoy success in management. His career path included Gulf Oil, Leaseway Transport, Amoco Oil, BP Oil, Radcliff Marine and Fuel and Williams Discovery Gas Processing. He received many awards with his management skills saving time and money at the facilities he managed.

Ray was called out of retirement in 2010 at the request of BP. His vast knowledges gave him the opportunity to aid in a major coastal disaster. He was appointed Deputy Supervisor Division Operations for Harrison County, Ms.to assist in the oil spill recovery for Deep Water Horizon. He led staff and volunteers to ensure a complete cleanup of his area of responsibility and recovery of the environment.

He was very proud of the role he completed and would share the stories of his adventures to those who asked.

Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, sailing, reading and riding his Gold Wing. He was a Mr. Fix it, our granddaughter, said Papa can fix anything and he did.

We will miss his story telling of the adventures he had with family and friends. His stories are now cherished memories.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the VFW, 950 Nichols Ave, Fairhope on Saturday April 25th. from 1pm - 4 pm. Please come and share the memories with his family and friends...
