Rhonda Goldman Gunn, age 59, of Chatom, AL passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. She was born July 15, 1967. Daughter to Patricia and James Goldman.
Rhonda was always a very hard working and determined woman. After graduating from Washington County High School, she went on to attend the University of South Alabama where she graduated magna cum laude. Following graduation she began her career as a history teacher. She began at Mcintosh High School followed by Washington County High School, where she taught for 23 years. Many of the people who knew Rhonda knew her from being their teacher. She was a mentor and mother-like figure to many students over the years. Rhonda was a woman who truly cared about the well being of others. She believed strongly in women’s and civil rights, and detested injustice of any kind.
There was one thing that Rhonda cared more about than anything else in this world, and that was her children. She was an extremely devoted and loving mother who would do anything for her children. She also had that same fierce love and protectiveness over her students as well. Rhonda brought a light to this world that will be truly missed. The impact she has made on so many in a positive way is worthy of remembrance. Her main rule was, “treat others how you want to be treated, and if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.

She is survived by her son Logan Gunn, her daughter Tailey Gunn, parents James and Patricia Goldman, and her brother Randall (Lindsay) Goldman.A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 13th at 2:00 PM at Pine Level Baptist Church in Hobson, Alabama.
