Richard Lee “Dick” Bailey age 82, of Silverhill, Alabama, passed away on February 3, 2026, in Fairhope, Alabama.

Born on January 4, 1944, in Pekin, Illinois, Dick was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and deeply loved his country. He made sure an American flag was always flying in his front yard. Dick was a passionate hardworking man with the rare skills to do and complete any task large or small. He took great pride in passing along this strong work ethic, and a plethora of skills to his sons, whom he loved immensely and bragged about often.

Above all else, family was the most important thing in his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His love for his family was constant and unwavering.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Myrtle Bailey, his siblings; Loretta McLeod, Bob Tucker, Barbara Braswell.

He is survived by his loving wife, Martha.

His children, Richard Jr., Matt (Amy) Bailey, Robert (Leslie), John, and James (Suzette) West. His cherished grandchildren, Carson, Emma, and Richard “Trey” Bailey III, Lauren, Jonathan, Michael, Christian, and Skye West, Garrett and Michael Seaman and Collin Arnold. His siblings; Jack (Jackie), George (Susan) Bailey, and Darlene Lund. Finally his beloved German Shepherd, “Ruger”.

Dick leaves a legacy of character, compassion, and hard work. He will be remembered fondly by all of those whose lives he touched. He simply left the world a better place than he found it. Rest easy Dick, we’ve got it from here.
