Richard “Mark” Gaines, lovingly known as “Paw” to family. He was 81 yrs of age. A native of Bells, Tennessee.
Mark went to be with Our Lord on Thursday morning - July 23, 2026.
He graduated from Murphy High School in 1964. He retired from Scott Paper - SAPPI in Mobile after a 35 year career.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 49 years, Edwina “Edie” Downing Gaines. And son, Burton (Amanda) Booker; daughter, Lisa (Mark) Eaton. Grandchildren—Brian (Barbara) Booker, Brandon Booker, Breann Booker, Brenton Booker, Riley (Kayla) Eaton, and, Leann(Adam) Hall. And 11 great-grandchildren.
Services held at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
Visitation: 12 - 1 pm
Chapel Service: 1 pm
