Richard “Mark” Gaines, lovingly known as “Paw” to family, was 81 yrs of age. A native of Bells, Tennessee. He went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Thursday morning - July 23, 2026.
He graduated from Murphy High School in 1964. Retired from Scott Paper-SAPPI in Mobile after a 35 year career.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 49 years, Edwina “Edie” Downing Gaines. Son, Burton (Amanda) Booker; Daughter, Lisa (Mark) Eaton. Grandchildren—Brian (Barbara) Booker, Brandon Booker, Breann Booker, Brenton Booker, Riley (Kayla) Eaton, Leann (Adam) Hall. There are 11 great-grandchildren.
Services: Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
Visitation: 12 - 1 pm. Chapel Service: 1 pm
