Richard V. Ward

Richard V. Ward, a long-time resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 88. For over 50 years, he was a Mason, a member of the Shriner’s and of the Elk’s Club; and a pillar of the Barnwell Community. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Ward; son, Rickie Ward and grandson, Daniel Childress. He is survived by his partner and caretaker, Elaine Bullock; son, Ronnie C. Ward; daughters, Janet T. Childress (Curtis Childress, Jr.) and Alice L. Lister; grandchildren, Melanie Payne, Little Rick Ward, Lacy Ward, Chas Ward, Justin Ward, Curt Childress, April Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Tristan Lister, Nicole Lister and Zack Keith; numerous great grandchildren and great, great, grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 2:00pm in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
