In his professional life, Robert dedicated 25 years to Fina Oil & Chemical in Deer Park, Texas, where he distinguished himself through his impressive work ethic and meticulous attention to detail. He was recognized with numerous accolades throughout his career, standing as a testament to his commitment and passion for his work. Robert retired in 2000, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and perseverance that inspired his colleagues and many others.

Family was the cornerstone of Robert's life. For 64 cherished years, he was the loving husband of Ella Mae Kelley Holbrook, with whom he shared countless memories, laughter, and love. Together, they built a beautiful family, which includes their son, Mark Holbrook, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Holbrook. Robert was profoundly proud of his grandchildren: Justin Holbrook, Emily Murphree, and Kate Hatfield. He found immense joy in being a grandfather to his great-grandchildren—Eli Holbrook, Jameson Holbrook, Walker Holbrook, Camden Murphree, and Birdie Murphree—who brought him endless delight.

Robert's passions extended beyond family and work; he had a love for NASCAR and an especially sweet tooth, relishing in all things chocolate, often bringing smiles to his loved ones. He was a member of the Foley United Methodist Church, where his faith further highlighted the kindheartedness that defined him.

He joins his beloved family members who have passed before him, including his father, Norman Holbrook, his mother, Jewel Holbrook, and his brother, Jerry Holbrook.

On September 29, 2025, family and friends will gather for visitation at Foley Chapel in Foley, Alabama, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. These moments will serve as a heartfelt gathering to celebrate Robert's remarkable life, honor his legacy, and reflect on the lasting impact he has made in the lives of those who love him.
