Robert Edward Renner

Robert Edward Renner, age 77, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on January 26, 2024. 

Robert (“Pike”) was born March 7, 1946, to Walter Renner & Eleanor Vacy, in Buffalo, New York. Growing up, he spent summers at his parents’ summer home in Silver Bay, Canada. He graduated from Erie County Technical Institute with a degree in Hospitality. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Lois (nee Dutko); three children, Bradford Renner of River Falls, Wisconsin, Abby (Brian) Berry of Castro Valley, California, Marnee Renner of St. Charles, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Skylar, Phoebe, Grace, and Eichler. 

Robert lived in several states serving the hospitality industry, eventually retiring from Fermi Lab, Batavia, IL, and moving to Fairhope, Alabama. He spent many years as a School Board Member, golfing, and playing bocce ball. 

 Most importantly, Robert took his faith seriously. From the moment he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior 40 years ago, he read his Bible daily and prayed fervently. He had a passion to pray for missionaries, family, and the lost. Mornings would find him, Bible and prayer lists in hand, talking to his heavenly Father. If you knew him, he prayed for you. 

 A service will be held at Celebration Church, 8180 Dyer Road, Fairhope, AL, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 2:00 pm 

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Women’s Care Medical Center and should be sent to PO Box 1610, Robertsdale, AL 36567.
