Rodger Clifton Cobb

Rodger Clifton Cobb, 91, of Fairhope, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2026, in Mobile, Alabama.

Rodger was born October 15, 1934, in the community of Ingomar, Mississippi. He was the oldest child of Troy and Lorene Cobb and spent his early years working on the family farm, raising crops and livestock. Rodger graduated high school from Ingomar Attendance Center and later moved to Starkville, Mississippi. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1960 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and remained a lifelong, devoted fan of the MSU Bulldogs, cheering them on in every sport.

On November 25, 1959, Rodger married the love of his life, Sandra Kay Collier, in Starkville and the two shared a marriage rooted in faith and devotion to one another. They both were lifelong Baptist church members and supported their church in every community that they lived in. Faith and family were always the focus of Rodger’s life. They raised three boys together instilling a faith in the Lord and strong work ethic. Rodger educated his boys well beyond their formal education ensuring that they had life skills as well. The boys often joke that they didn’t realize you could hire mechanics until after they left home. “Dad made them do it themselves!”

Rodger built a distinguished career in manufacturing and plant management. He began his career at Walker Muffler Corporation in Aberdeen, Mississippi, before moving on to positions of increasing responsibility at several major manufacturers before retiring as President of Fasco Industries in Eldon, Missouri. His education certainly gave him a great start to his work life, but it was his talent in getting people to work together that made him such an excellent manager and leader.

Rodger retired to Fairhope, Alabama and as always, became an active part of the community and especially his church. Selfless was a great word to describe him, as he was always thinking of others and doing whatever he could for someone else. He lived a full life and was loved by all.

Rodger is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Collier Cobb; his children, Cliff Cobb, Andy Cobb (Lina), and Brad Cobb (Carrie); his grandchildren, Jennifer May (Justin), Nicki Hail (Trey), Justin Cobb (Emma), Tyler Cobb (Lauren), Jake Cobb (Leeann), Hunter Cobb, and Luke Cobb; his great-grandchildren, Maggie May, Bo May, Cannon Cobb, Brogan Hail, Caden Cobb, and Ella Cobb; and his sister, Betty Brewer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Lorene Cobb, and his brothers, Herbert and Randy Cobb.

Rodger now rests in the peace of his Savior, and his legacy of faith, love, patience, and kindness will live on in the family and friends he leaves behind.

Visitation will be 10:00 am Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Fairhope, followed at 11:00 a.m. by a Celebration of Life in the Sanctuary.
