Fairhope

With heavy hearts we announce that our beloved husband, brother-in-law, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Ronald H. Snow, passed away on February 12th after a brave fight against cancer.  Ron was born on December 28th, 1939 to Thomas Howell Snow and Ethel Glover Snow in Powderly, Alabama.  Ron grew up in Powderly, spending most of his childhood playing sports.  Following graduation from Jones Valley High School in 1957, he went on to pursue a degree in Industrial Engineering at Auburn University.  An active member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, Ron made money ironing shirts for his fraternity brothers, a job that would appear again later.  After graduating from Auburn, Ron successfully ran multiple businesses in the automobile and engineering industries.  He had one son, Chip Snow, as well as 4 beautiful grandchildren (Ali, Colton, Ethany, Thorin) and 4 great-grandchildren (Aidan, Tyson, Chevy, Bonnie).  Work eventually brought him down to the Panhandle where he met the love of his life and wife of 41 years, Nancy Brown.  Ron and Nan eventually made their home in Fairhope, Alabama.  Ron was the owner of Shamrock Cleaners in Daphne, Alabama for a period of time, putting a smile on the faces of everyone who walked in the doors.  Ron studied golf and training dogs in his spare time, and like everything else, he became extremely proficient.  He was quick to tell a joke or a funny story, and few could do it any better than him.  When not cleaning up on the poker tables in Biloxi, The Snowman could be found playing golf at Lakewood or feeding the birds at the Fairhope Pier.  Ron was also an avid reader making him a human Google for any and all questions.  Despite having cancer for over two years, Ron never complained once.  He lived an amazing life, full of experiences and love for his wife, dog, cats and large family.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Erskine and Charles Snow), his sister (Kay Snow Owen) and hunting dog (Babe).  Ronnie was so loved by his friends, grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, always thoughtful and supportive of all of us.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the animal shelter of your choice, American Cancer Society or Community Hospice.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
