Roy David Titus, 68, of Fairhope, Alabama, was called from this life to his eternal reward on Monday, July 3, 2023. Born on January 6, 1955, in Panama City, Florida, Roy graduated from Bay County High School (1973) and from Florida State University (1977) with a degree in marketing. He dedicated forty-three years of his career to Beard Equipment Company, a John Deere Construction and Forestry Dealership where he served as salesman and sales manager. He loved his work, the Beard family, and his co-workers and customers, all of whom became good friends. Roy adored his family, friends, Florida State, and sports. Growing up in Panama City, he delighted in being on the water – boating, swimming, skiing, fishing (especially offshore sport fishing) – and was a certified master scuba diver. Preceding him in death are his parents, Arthur Floyd Titus, Sr. and Orma Turner Titus; brother, Arthur Titus, Jr.; brother-in-law, Earl Burton Tally, Jr; and nephew, Chad Edward Lafontaine. Roy is survived by his wife, Patricia Austin Titus; sister, Kay Tally of Nashville, Tennessee; brother-in-law, James Austin, Jr. (Lynette) of Lucedale, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Sylvia Austin Lafontaine (Ronnie) of Pass Christian, Mississippi; brother-in-law, Chris Austin of Bay St Louis, Mississippi; brother-in-law, Fr. Mike Austin of Pass Christian, Mississippi; and many nieces and nephews of whom he was so very proud. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Wolfe Bayview Funeral home, 19698 Hwy 98, in Fairhope on July 20, 2023, at 11am. The family will receive guests from 10:15-11am. A private funeral for family will be on July 21, 2023, in Panama City at Wilson Funeral Home, followed by interment in the Titus family plot in Mount Hope Cemetery in Lynn Haven, Florida. To honor Roy’s memory, donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where Roy and Patricia are members of the Partners in Hope program.
