Russell Stephen Nagy, (1941-2025)
Husband, Dad, Navy Man, Friend
On Friday June 27, 2025, Russ passed away peacefully and quietly with his two sons at his bedside. Russ leaves behind his wife and best friend of 62 years, Patricia Ann Nagy.
Russ was born November 3, 1941, to Stephen and Lavinia Nagy in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. He was one of four siblings, having three sisters: Margaret, Judy, and Stephanie.
Russ married Pat on Valentines Day in 1963. They shared their lives through Hawaii, California, Norfolk, Pittsburgh, and Georgia. He and Pat have two sons, Jeffery Russell Nagy and Timothy Gregg Nagy. Jeff married Mary Laurent and have three married adult children (Aimee Dose-husband Adam, Krysta Newton-husband Joe and Zac Nagy-wife Shelley Clair) as well as Russ’s two great grandchildren (Kelly Newton and Noah Nagy). Tim has two adult children (Maximilian Nagy and Kathryn Nagy).
Russ served his country by enlisting with the Navy. He served on several blue water ships, as well as having been deployed overseas. He retired Honorably, after 30 years of combined Active and Reserve service. Russ continued to work in the private sector, where he and Pat retired in Georgia.
Russ enjoyed his family, his sweets, and his pets, as well as his weekends watching the races with a small glass of wine.
Visitation will be held at the Daphne Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 9:30am to 10:30am. Graveside service will follow in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama.
