Samantha Louise Baker, known simply as “Sam,” was born on May 26, 1989, in Meridian, Mississippi, and passed away on July 5, 2026, in Daphne, Alabama. Her life, though far too brief, was marked by kindness, resilience, and a boundless love for family, friends, and community.

Samantha’s early years were spent in Zero, Mississippi, where she developed into a bright and compassionate young woman. She graduated from Clarkdale High School in 2007, where she was member of the Future Farmers of America—a testament to her hardworking spirit and commitment to service from a young age.

Her sense of service led her to join the Mississippi Army National Guard in 2007 as a Chaplain’s Assistant. In 2010, Samantha transitioned her service to the United States Army Reserve, where she met the love of her life, Lance Baker. Samantha forged relationships during these years that enriched her life immeasurably, and she continued her service until 2012.

Samantha had a passion for children and poured her energy into teaching early childhood education until 2020. Enthusiastic about new challenges, Samantha became a Real Estate Agent with Elite Realty from 2020 to 2024, guiding families through some of their most important decisions with honesty and care. Most recently, she served as Head Teller at Trustmark Bank, where her attention to detail, integrity, and friendly demeanor left an indelible impression on colleagues and customers alike.

When not working, Samantha could be found at the Daphne High School football field, volunteering her time alongside the "Football Moms."  She knew every player by name and cheered for them as hard as she did her own sons. In her quiet time at home, Samantha loved nothing more than working a jigsaw puzzle, cooking new dishes, and watching NCIS with Lance. But above all, Samantha was devoted to her faith in Jesus Christ having professed her faith at a young age. She imperfectly walked the Christian walk alongside her Savior and grew spiritually. She is undoubtedly in heaven at the feet of her Lord where she feels no more pain and sorrow.

Those who knew Samantha remember her for her radiant personality. Her “superpower” was quickly making friends wherever she went, and her unfailing sense of humor brought lightness and laughter to every room. Samantha loved her friends and family deeply, and she cherished her sons, Brandon Baker and Wyatt Jackson, who were her greatest pride. Her devotion to her husband, Lance, was unmistakable; he was truly the love of her life.

Samantha’s departure leaves a profound sense of loss among those who loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Lance Baker; her sons, Brandon Baker and Wyatt Jackson; her mother, Angela and Christopher Richardson; her father, Robert and Jessica Johnson; her sister, Courtney Johnson; her brother, Daniel Johnson; and countless other family and friends. Samantha was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jimmy Wayne and Sandra Johnson, whose memories she always carried in her heart.

Friends and family are invited to honor and remember Samantha at a visitation on July 24, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Eastern Shore Baptist Church, 6857 Park Drive, Daphne, AL 36526. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort, 34904 AL-225, Spanish Fort, AL 36577.

Samantha Louise Baker’s legacy is one of unwavering love, laughter, and service. She touched countless lives with her generosity, humor, and compassion, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
