Sharon Kay Fox Costin, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dedicated educator, passed away on February 17, 2026, in Foley, Alabama, at the age of 81. Born on January 4, 1945, Sharon devoted much of her life to the service of others, both in her personal and professional endeavors.
Sharon enjoyed a fulfilling career as a paraprofessional at Wesley Heights Elementary School in Columbus, Georgia, where she touched the lives of countless students and families. Her passion for education was matched by her commitment to her local community, where she was a long-standing member of Edgewood Baptist Church. There, she found joy in attending church services and participating in monthly social gatherings with her senior Sunday school classmates, reflecting her warm spirit and love for camaraderie.
Educated at Cerritos Junior College in Cerritos, California, Sharon's life was characterized by the values she cherished: faith, family, and friendship. She was a devoted mother to her four children, Terry Kuykendall, Jamie Cole, David Costin, and Wayne Costin, who carry forward her loving legacy. In addition to her children, she was a proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Sharon is also survived by her dear family members, including her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who will cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Norma Fox; father, David Fox; sister, Iola Morgan; sister, Joanne Johansen; brother, Darrell Fox; grandson, Jeramy Clark; and son in law, Mikey Kuykendall.
A graveside service will be held in her honor on March 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Memory Gardens of Fairhope, located at 19250 S Greeno Rd, Fairhope, Alabama. Friends and family are invited to join in paying their respects and celebrating the life of a remarkable woman whose impact will never be forgotten.
