Sharron Elaine Ratcliff, née Taylor, was born on May 12, 1947, in the charming city of Mobile, Alabama. With a life gracefully lived over the span of nearly eight decades, she passed away on April 7, 2026, at her home in Foley, Alabama. Elaine departed this world surrounded by her loving family, embraced in peace and dignity.
Elaine was known for many beautiful qualities that defined her essence and enriched the lives of those who knew her. A devoted mother and a cherished sister, she poured her heart into her family, dedicating herself with unwavering love and kindness. She was particularly fond of the joyous moments spent together during the holidays, when laughter and warmth filled the air—times she deeply treasured creating lasting memories.
Her radiant personality shone through in her kindness and welcoming spirit, endearing her to friends and family alike. Elaine possessed a wonderful sense of humor, a gift that made her company delightful and her gatherings lively. Among her cherished pastimes were knitting and crocheting baby hats for newborns, rescuing abused dogs, and organizing Wednesday Ladies' luncheons with her closest friends, where friendships blossomed, and stories were shared over good food and merriment. She had a profound love for her Savior and church, finding solace and purpose in her faith, and delighted in the simple pleasure of shopping, which brought a sparkle to her eyes.
Born a Taylor, Elaine was the beloved sister of Ronnie Taylor of Albany, Georgia and Brenda Taylor of Spanish Fort, Alabama. Her maternal devotion was evident in her daughters, Kim Kosina, Cheryl Coesens (Fred), and Amy McKenzie (Jason), whom she raised with care and strength. Her legacy extended warmly to her grandchildren—Chantele Lucas, Chris McLaurin, Sharron Zuniga, Faith McMahon, Lexi McKenzie, and Evan McKenzie and her great grand children, each a testament to her enduring love and guidance.
Her father, Clarence Reps Taylor preceded her in death and also her mother, Gracie Nell Smith Harger, whom she cared for with complete devotion in her mother's last months of life. Her beloved husband, Charles Ratcliff, also preceded her in death, leaving a void filled only by the fond memories and the enduring love they shared.
Elaine’s life was a testament to grace, kindness, and joy—one marked by intimate family devotion, vibrant friendships, and a soul enriched by faith. Though she is no longer with us in presence, her spirit and the laughter she brought into every room shall remain forever imprinted on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
In celebrating Sharron Elaine Ratcliff’s memory, we remember a life well-lived, a heart well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
