Shirley Annie Helms

HELMS ELBERTA, ALABAMA Shirley Annie Helms, age 72, a resident of Elberta, AL passed away, Sunday, January 30, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lloyd Helms and Margaret Ulrich Helms; sister, Carol Williams Underwood; brother-in-law, George Frank, Jr. and one great nephew. She was a lifelong member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church. Her faith was inspiring. She was a dedicated and beloved teacher and coach. She was inducted into Foley High School Hall of Fame on October 20, 2000. She was an amazing role model for many. She loved family and her family loved her. Shirley is survived by her twin sister, Sharon Frank; sister, Betty (Keith) Wood; eight nephews, Chris, Mike and Matt Williams, Robbie, Randy and Ryan Wood, Jason and Justin Frank; niece, Amy Frank Schoetzow, seven great nieces, seven great nephews and one great great nephew, and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church at 12:00pm, Friday, February 4, 2022. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
