Shirley Cooper Hirs

Shirley Cooper Hirs, a lifelong resident of Daphne, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025, in Daphne, AL. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, and will be deeply missed.

Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Beth Hirs (John) Trimble of Florence, AL, and Laurie Hirs (Brad) Fuller of New Delhi, India. She is also survived by her sister, Earline Cooper Jordan of Daphne, and her stepsons, Edward A. Hirs, III of Houston, TX, and Allen C. Hirs and Robert G. Hirs, both of Fairhope. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: John Edward Inge Trimble of Fairhope, Lillian Hirs Trimble, Ellen Elizabeth Trimble, both of Florence, AL, Anna Camille Fuller of Fort Collins, CO, Edward Roan Fuller of Rapid City, SD, and Angus Fisher Fuller of New Delhi, India. Several nephews and nieces also survive her. Special recognition is given to her partner, Clifford Moore.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated nurses and staff at Gentiva Health Services for the exceptional care and support. They also appreciate the love and kindness shown by friends during this difficult time.

A service in memory of Shirley will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Daphne with a visitation starting at 10:00 am and Celebration of Life at 11:00 am.

Shirley will be remembered for her kind spirit, generosity, and the love she shared with everyone around her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
