Susan Anne (“Sue”) Dombart, 73, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, in Fairhope, Alabama, surrounded by her family.
Born on October 22, 1952, in Mobile, Alabama, she grew up in Loxley, AL and was known for her deep Catholic faith, love of reading, animals, and caring for others. She earned a nursing degree from the Mastin School of Nursing in Mobile, Alabama and dedicated 20 years to nursing. Known for her compassionate care, she later continued serving others through her church by teaching confirmation classes and devoted herself to her family as a stay-at-home mom.
She married Kenneth G. Dombart on March 11, 1978, and they raised two children, Rachael (Bird) and Jordan Dombart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Delores (Rivers) Offord, several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her loving husband Ken, married for 48 years, children Rachael (Jonathan Bird) and Jordan (Nelia Dombart), sister Jeanne Rowe and brother-in-law Lynn Rowe, and five grandchildren, Shaina, Christie and Noah Bird and Brayden and Greyson Dombart.
She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, love of animals, books, her family and the simple caring approach to life.
The family is deeply grateful to the dedicated nurses, hospice staff, and doctors who cared for Sue with kindness, dignity, and compassion during her final journey.
Services will be held Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., with a Catholic Mass beginning at 1:00 p.m. A family interment will be at a later date in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Southern Veranda in Fairhope, Alabama.
