Susan Hughes Rosaly

Susan Hughes-Rosaly, born Susan Roberta Hughes on July 9, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Surrounded by the love of her family and held in the quiet grace of her faith, Susan Hughes-Rosaly departed this life with peace in her heart and a life well lived—a life rooted in devotion, resilience, and unconditional love.

Susan was the devoted and cherished wife of Henry Rosaly, her loving partner through sixty years of joy, challenge, and triumph.Together, they built a life that reflected the values they held dear—a home filled with laughter, prayers, and a love that anchored their family in stormy and sunny seasons alike. Susan is survived by her cherished children, Roberta Rosaly, Connie Rosaly-Pizzotti, Rebecca Rosaly, and Laura Rosaly-Kimball, who will always remember her unconditional  love, warmth, guidance, and  support. Her pride as a grandmother and great-grandmother radiated from her soul. Susan lovingly embraced each grandchild: Jessica Rapuano, Michael Rapuano and his spouse Kaleigh, Hailey Pizzotti, Jacob Pizzotti, Coraline Kimball, Stephan Davis and his spouse Billiann, Susie Davis and her fiance Jacob. She poured the same devotion into her great-grandchildren: Sophia, Evelynn, Amellia, Emma, Peyton, Michael Jr., and Jamie, each of whom received her unconditional love and the treasured gift of knowing her gentle spirit. Susan was more than a mother. She was a guiding light, a safe place, and a strong foundation. She faced life’s hardships with quiet determination and a heart full of grace, showing them how to stand tall with faith and compassion no matter the circumstance. Susan’s strength was woven through her every action. Through loss, change, and life's uncertainties, she remained steady—lifting others when they faltered, cheering every victory, while staying rooted in love. Her resilience inspired everyone who knew her, especially her family who witnessed her strength shine brightest in life’s most tender moments.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rev. W.K. Hughes and Roberta B. Hughes. She also mourned the loss of her brother, John D. Hughes, as well as her maternal grandparents, Florence Johnson-Moreno and John C. Moreno, and her paternal grandparents, Nettie Mae Hughes and Hiram Hughes. Their memories remained cherished in her heart, and she honored them in the values and grace she passed along to her family.

Susan’s faith was an unshakable cornerstone of her life. Inspired by her father and mother, Rev. W.K. Hughes, and Roberta B. Hughes respectively , she carried their legacy of faith forward—teaching her children about the love and teachings of Jesus Christ with tenderness and conviction. That legacy did not stop with one generation: she lovingly shared the stories of Jesus with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nurturing their spiritual journeys with bedtime prayers, quiet conversations, and joyful worship. Her witness of faith was not just taught—it was lived, deeply and consistently, in the way she loved and cared for others.

Susan’s love was immeasurable. Her compassion, wisdom, and ability to lift others even as she bore her own burdens will never be forgotten. Whether in the quiet calm of a conversation, the warmth of her embrace, or the strength behind her smile, she made every member of her family feel deeply seen and endlessly loved. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Susan’s life was devoted to her family, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of kindness and love will continue to resonate within her family and friends for generations to come. Her absence leaves an ache that will be felt for years to come. But her spirit—her faith, her kindness, her resilience—lives on in the hearts and lives of those who knew her. Her legacy is not only one of love and devotion but also of unwavering strength and spiritual grace. And that legacy will continue to guide and comfort her family until Jesus comes.
