Suzanne Marie Hackney Damour

Dec. 7th, 1945 – July 17th, 2025

Suzanne Marie Hackney Damour passed from this earth to her eternal home in Heaven peacefully in the presence of loved ones on July 17th, 2025, at Westminster Village in Spanish Fort, Alabama.

Born and raised in Greensboro, NC, graduating from Western Guilford High School, Suzanne traveled extensively in her adult life and lived in many states including North Carolina, Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Montana, Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Her favorite was Colorado.

Throughout her life she developed a passion for music and the arts including dance and singing and was known to have a beautiful singing voice. She possessed remarkable talent in creating art and excelled at making pottery, jewelry, stained glass, and glass bead art. Much of her artwork remains as treasured possessions of her family and friends.

She loved to travel and enjoyed fly fishing in Montana with her Husband Bill Damour who preceded her in passing. Also preceding her were her beloved parents Dorothy Gleason Hackney and Hubert H Hackney, and siblings John and Barry Hackney, all of Greensboro, NC.

She is survived by her sister Linda Dekle husband Larry Dekle of North Carolina and children Amanda Warman and husband Jeff (AL), Julie Wheeler and husband Keith (IN), Tracy Black (NC), Jack Saunders and wife Tahneah (NC), twelve grandchildren, three great grand-daughters, and Stepsons; Tim Damour and wife Deanna (CO), Chris Damour and wife Sarah (CO), and Steven Damour and wife Kristi (CO).

A celebration of life service will be held on December 7th, 2025, 2:00 pm at Guildford Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. It will be a closed service, only Children and Grandchildren are to attend.
