Theresa Marie O'Donovan Taylor
01/15/1961 - 07/26/2026
Theresa O'Donovan Taylor, 65, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, formerly of Seabrook, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and the deep bonds she nurtured throughout her life.
Theresa retired to Gulf Shores six years ago, after many years in Texas. A proud graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, where she made lifelong friends, she will be remembered for her devotion to her family and friends, her thoughtful nature, and the quiet elegance she carried with her. She had a way of making people feel valued, and she showed her love through the care she put into every aspect of her life.
She worked for Baker Botts for 18 years, where her attention to detail and steady professionalism were deeply appreciated. In Gulf Shores, she found joy in her daily walks on the beach, enjoying the peaceful exercise and the simple pleasure of collecting seashells. While living in Texas, she also enjoyed evening boat rides on the lake with her husband, Warren. She had a keen eye for home décor, and a true green thumb, turning every space, gathering, or patio into something beautiful and inviting. She cooked with precision and pride, and she was especially known for her famous banana pudding and carrot cake which family eagerly anticipated at special occasions.
Theresa approached life with purpose. She set goals thoughtfully and pursued them with determination-whether designing the retirement home she envisioned for years or researching healthy living products with the same care and thoroughness she brought to everything she did. When she smiled, her eyes lit up, and her soft, gentle laugh remains a treasured memory for those who loved her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Fred Warren Taylor; her daughter, Michelle Elam; her stepson, Grant Taylor, and wife, Amy; and her beloved grandchildren: Brice and Blane.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Patricia and Patrick O'Donovan; her sisters: Regina Bowerman and Cathy O'Donovan; and her brothers: Patrick and Andrew O'Donovan. She is survived by brothers: John, Danny and Michael O'Donovan; sisters: Angela Wolf, Patricia Wyble, Noreen Alexander and MaryAnne Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold her in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Theresa's honor to a cancer organization of your choice.
