Thomas James Counts

Thomas James “Tommy” Counts, age 68, passed away on January 23, 2026. He was born in 1957 in Prattville, Alabama to Buck and Juanita Counts. Tommy lived a life defined by generosity, adventure, laughter, and deep love for his family.

Tommy never met a stranger. Known for his big heart and willingness to help anyone in need, he was the kind of man who showed up—no questions asked, no expectations in return. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a story, or cracking a joke at just the right moment, Tommy had a way of making people feel welcome and valued.

He had a strong sense of adventure and an even stronger sense of humor, traits that stayed with him throughout his life. He loved being outdoors and could often be found fishing or camping, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. A devoted Auburn football fan, he proudly cheered on his Tigers every season—War Eagle. Above all else, the greatest joy of his life was his grandchildren, who were truly the highlight of his world.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Cyndi Counts; his children Brandon (Cynthia) Counts, Courtney (William) Love, Meghan Counts, Morgan (Jarod) Parshall, Lindsey (Todd) Reed, daughter-in-law Ashley Counts; and his cherished grandchildren Hunter Seymore, Raygan McGhee, Dillon Reed, Trent Parshall, Kelci Wray, Hadley Counts, Addison Counts, Finley Reed, Griffin O’Neal, Paisley Counts, August Reed, and Jackson Love. He is also survived by his mother, Juanita Counts, his siblings Timmy (Nancy) Counts, and Nancy (Chris) Wyatt, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Buck Counts, and his son, Chad Counts, whom he carried in his heart always.

Tommy’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 10:00-11:00am at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Alabama with service immediately following.
