Thomas Joseph Gmitter

Thomas Joseph Gmitter, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at the age of 76. He was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army; a Vietnam Veteran, who was awarded a Bronze Star; an Honor Guard Member; and a hiking enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Criswell Gmitter, father, Charles Aloysius Gmitter; brothers, Charles Edward Gmitter and James Walter Gmitter. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Kirsten Noel Rollins; grandson, Joseph David Rollins; granddaughters, Virginia Katherine Rollins and Marina Grace Rollins; brother, Roy Eugene Gmitter; nieces, Elizabeth Ford Gmitter and Emily Margaret Gmitter Griffin; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, September 15, 2023, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
