Vernon G. Wiggins

Vernon G. Wiggins, age 58, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama passed away April 27, 2026. Vern loved and cared for his family and cared deeply for others, both those he knew as well as strangers. His gift of compassion and mercy was evident to all who crossed his path. He prayed for others and is now praising his Lord and Savior in his heavenly home. He was the epitome of integrity and did all things with excellence.

Vern earned a degree in Horticulture from Auburn University. He enjoyed a life-long love of caring for plants, architecture, vintage cars and reading. He truly respected and enjoyed working with his colleagues and his career with the State of Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries as an Agricultural and Consumer Protection Specialist Supervisor in the Pesticide Management Section for 25 years.

His family wishes to thank the medical community of Fairhope and especially Aveanna Hospice of Fairhope for the kind attention and care provided during Vern’s illness.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Evelyn Wiggins of Fairhope; wife, Kathleen Brown Wiggins of Fairhope; children, Kathleen Claire Wiggins and Nathan Parker Wiggins both of Fairhope; father-in-law, David Brown (Donna “deceased”) of Alexander City, Alabama; brother, Mike Wiggins (Lisa) of Fairhope; sister, Jean Wiggins Blass ( Bryan) of Prattville, Alabama; Sister-in-law, Karen Brown Robinson (Boyd) of Monroeville, Alabama; brother-in-law, Karl Brown (Nancy) of Auburn, Alabama; and many treasured nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 4:00P.M. at the Fairhope Colony Cemetery located at the corner of N. Church Street and Oak Street, across from the Fairhope Civic Center in Fairhope, Alabama. The service will be officiated by Rev. Bryan Blass and service details are provided by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home.
