W. Eric Armstrong

Walter "Eric" Armstrong, 65 years old, of Foley, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, July 11th, 2023, in his home. Eric was born in Pana, IL, on June 21, 1958. He was the son of Jack and Viola (Wirey) Armstrong. Eric was a graduate of Pana High Schoo, class of 1976 and worked at GSI for 30+ years. After retiring from GSI, Eric relocated to Alabama to live out his dream of living by the beach. He enjoyed all things water-related. Eric was a lifelong Cardinal Baseball fam, enjoyed riding his Harley, and golfing regularly. He had five hole in ones. Eric married Cheryl Tucker Thomas in 1987, and she survives in Foley, AL. They enjoyed many years of concerts, golf, and fun. Typically you wouldn't see one without the other. Eric was the father of Erica (Pana) and Chad (Vandalia). He had 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Eric leaves behind his wife, Cheryl; children, Erica (Sean) Linn, and Chad (Danessa) Armstrong; grandchildren, Brody, Brittany, Jack, Savannah, Ace, Gemma, and Elynn; sister, Jacalyn Seitz; brother, Kurt Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews. Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Vi, and by his sister, Viky Maton. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Pana, IL. Memorial donations may be given in Eric's name to Donate Life.
