William Frank Gustafson, Jr.

William F. “Toby” Gustafson Jr., 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 8th, 2025. Toby loved Jesus, his wife Cathy, his family and his church family. He will be missed for his generous spirit, quick wit and willingness to advise anyone about anything. Toby loved fishing, hated mayonnaise and wanted everyone he met to know Jesus.

Toby was born in Silva, North Carolina on November 27, 1963 to Susan Todd Gustafson and William F. Gustafson Sr. After growing up in Miami, Florida Toby attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Later in life he moved to Baldwin County, Alabama where he met his wife Cathy at a small church in Robertsdale. It was a divine encounter and the two were married March 21, 1998.

Toby worked in a variety of fields but they all involved serving others, including as a retail manager and as a chaplain with Waterfront Rescue Mission. Toby was a successful entrepreneur as the owner and operator of Integrity Pressure Cleaning of Alabama. He also served for 16 years as the assistant pastor of Calvary Chapel Eastern Shore.

Toby was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Susan Todd. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Gustafson, her children, Rob McCoy and his wife Blossom; Catherine Etheridge and her husband Wesley; and John McCoy; and grandchildren: Lauren, Gabriel, Magnus, Maddy, Jessica and husband Bobby, and Isabelle.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, October 4th, 11am at Calvary Chapel Fellowship of Foley, 18464 Underwood Rd. Foley, AL 36535. Guests are encouraged to bring a printed tribute to share with the family. All tributes will be collected in a book of memories.
